Configuring Stores
After Creating Replication Groups, configure the store database settings. The Store Configuration wizard defines how the store handles and processes gift card transactions. You determine if the database resides at the store level, or if the store connects to the central database to process transactions.
You configure most stores with the same settings; therefore, access the wizard through Company Setup to define the standard setup for gift cards. Settings you make in Company Setup are the default settings for all stores. Access the wizard through Site Setup to override the standard settings for a specific store.

To configure company store settings:

Expand System Setup.
2.
Select Company Setup.
3.
Click the Gift Card Store Config button on the General tab.
4.
Select Specify the in-store database settings.
5.
Click Next. The In-Store Gift Card Database Options screen appears.

Click the Store Database Settings tab.
8.
Select the applicable purge thresholds.

Click Save. You return to the Welcome screen.

Select Specify auto-approval and connection settings.

Click Next.

Enter the auto-approve amount in Auto-approve card if the check amount is less than. If setting up as a virtual store, proceed to step 18.

Select whether you want to connect to the central database or reject the card if it is not in the database. If you select to connect to the central database, you can enter an optional amount to auto-approve the gift card when a connection is unavailable.

Click the Connection Settings tab.
15.
Select Delay Disconnect if you are using a dial-up Internet Service Provider.
16.
Type the number of minutes to hold the line after the store connects to the central database.
17.
Occurs twice a day at:
Enter the times to synchronize the database.
Occurs at interval:
Select how often to update in the Every Hours drop-down list and the start and ending times.

Click Save.
If you need to make store specific changes, access the wizard from Site Setup.
To make store specific changes:
1.
Expand System Setup.
2.
Select Site Setup.
3.
Select Add/Modify Stores.
4.
Click Next.
5.
Select a store.
6.
Click Edit.
7.
Click Gift Card Store Config.
8.
Continue with step #4 of the company store settings procedure.
After configuring your stores, continue to Creating Card Types.
