Configuring Loyalty Settings on Cards
The Loyalty Settings tab enables you to assign an unlimited number of bonus plans to your card types. Your bonus plans are the heart and soul of your Loyalty program. A bonus plan can range from a simple program to a complex program where your customers earn rewards only when they visit your store on a specific day of the week.
For example, you can create three different bonus plans and assign all three to the same card. On the first bonus plan, a customer can earn points based on the items they order on Monday night during football season. On the second bonus plan, a customer can earn rewards based on the amount of dollars they spend during lunch. On the third bonus plan, you can issue a percentage off coupon on every fifth visit. All three bonus plans are tied to a single card. Your customer only has to carry one card, not three different cards.
The screen provides two list boxes. One list box contains all the bonus plans that you can assign to the card type, and the other list box contains all the bonus plans you have already assigned to the card type. To assign a bonus plan to a card, select a bonus plan in the ‘Unassigned Bonus Plan’ list box and use the arrows to move it to the ‘Assigned Bonus Plan’ list box. If you have already defined your bonus plans in the Bonus Plan wizard, you can assign them to a card type. If you have not created your bonus plans, you can assign the bonus plan to a card type in the Bonus Plan wizard after you create your bonus plans. Do not assign a bonus plan that adds value to a Stored Value/Loyalty Stored Value/Loyalty card, unless that card type supports the add value feature. For example, you can add $5.00 to a Stored Value/Loyalty card as a Loyalty reward. When configuring the card, select ‘Prompt for card purchase value’ and ‘Allow customer to add value to the card’ on the Stored Value Settings tab. This enables cardholders to get their Loyalty reward.
Unassigned Bonus Plans
Contains all active bonus plans configured for your store that you can assign to the card type. The bonus plans appear in alphabetical order.
Assigned Bonus Plans
Contains all the active bonus plans assigned to the card type. The bonus plans appear in the list box in the order they were assigned to the card type.
Bonus Plan
Click Bonus Plan to create new bonus plans in the Bonus Plan wizard. You must have security access to create new bonus plans. If you do not have adequate security settings, contact your system administrator.
MemberLink Security Validation
Use the MemberLink ePin Validation settings to define the validation your members use when logging in to the MemberLink Consumer Web site to access their current bonus plan balance. You can use an ePin number to validate all cards, a range of cards, or use a member profile field to validate your members.
Require ePin validation for all card numbers of this card type
Indicates all card numbers within this card type use ePin validation to log in to MemberLink.
Require ePin validation for all card numbers within the range of: X through X
Indicates all cards within the specified range require ePin validation to log in to MemberLink. Type a beginning and ending nine-digit range of numbers in the text boxes, and all cards within that range require ePin validation. If you type a beginning number in the first text box, such as 1, and an ending number, such as 5000, in the second text box; the system pads the numbers with the appropriate number of zeroes when you save your settings. If you leave the second text box blank, all cards from the beginning number and higher require ePin validation.
Selecting ‘Require ePin validation for all card numbers within the range of’ enables the following options:
Do not require ePin validation
Indicates the member does not enter an ePin validation number; however, you must select a member profile field to use for validation from the ‘Card numbers that don’t require ePin validation use the member profile security validation of’ drop-down list.
Card numbers that don’t require ePin validation use...
Contains a list of member profile security fields you can use to validate the member when logging in to the MemberLink Consumer Web site. Select a static profile field, such as birth date. Some profile fields change for your customers and may be hard to remember.
The drop-down list contains fields that you designated as required in the Loyalty Configuration wizard on the Member Profile tab. If the only entry in the drop-down list is ‘Required Fields Not Defined,’ you need to exit the application and define one or more profile fields as required fields in the Loyalty Configuration wizard.
Allow member login if the member’s profile does not exist
Indicates you are allowing members that have not yet entered their profile information into the Loyalty system to access the MemberLink Consumer Web site. For example, a member enrolls in your program on Friday, and they want to check their status on Sunday. Due to the weekend, your staff has not had time to enter the profile information; however, the member can still view their bonus plan balance, if you select ‘Allow member login if the member’s profile does not exist.’
