Configuring Single-Use Cards Use the Single-use Comp Card Settings options to define your cards. For example, you can designate all cards within a series to be single-use cards or designate cards in a range to be single-use cards. You can create single-use cards with beginning and ending expiration dates. This enables you to define when the card is available. For example, you provide a local charity with single-use cards and want to drive business in to your store around slower times of the year. You define the date when the card series becomes active, which is required and defaults to the current day of business when creating a card. If you want to create an open ended card that does not expire, leave the ‘Cards cannot be used after’ text box blank. Require card-use validation for all card numbers of this card type — Indicates all cards in the series are single-use cards. Require card-use validation for all card numbers within the range of: X through X — Indicates all cards within the specified range are single-use cards. Type a beginning and ending nine-digit number in the text boxes. If you type a beginning number in the first text box, such as 1, and an ending number, such as 5000, in the second text box; the system pads the numbers with the appropriate number of zeroes when you save your settings. If you leave the second text box blank, all cards from the beginning number and higher are single-use cards. Card cannot be used before — Designates the date the single-use card series becomes active and available for use in a store. You must enter at least the current date or a future date in the ‘Card cannot be used before’ text box. Cards cannot be use after — Designates the ending date on which the cardholder can no longer use the card. If you leave the ‘Cards cannot be used after’ text box blank, the card series does not have an ending expiration date. You can edit existing single-use cards with an expiration date, if the date is not the current date of business.
