There are three types of panels:
When you access Dynamic Drilldown Viewer the first time, the system creates a private panel for you based on the system panel. This panel appears with a preconfigured set of tabs, to enable you to begin using Dynamic Drilldown Viewer as quickly as possible. Since your needs and requirements from this reporting tool may be different from those of another employee in the company, use Panel Management and the system-generated panel to begin designing drilldown pages specific to your reporting needs.
You can perform the following tasks in Panel Management, to begin customizing your drilldown pages:
Click Create to open the Creating a New Panel screen. If you have sufficient security rights, you can create a new panel and share it with other users. Refer to Creating a New Panel for more information.
Tabs List
Select a panel in the Panels list to display the tabs available for the panel. Your security class configuration controls the panels and tabs you can edit. After selecting a panel in the Panels list, you can perform the following tasks:
Click Add to open the Tab Configuration screen and design a new tab for the selected panel. Refer to Working with Tab Configuration for more information.
Select a tab and click Edit Tab to launch the Tab Configuration screen and modify the tab, as needed. If you select a private panel or your security class does not have security rights, Edit Tab is unavailable. You cannot select multiple tabs to edit; you must edit each tab separately, even if each tab requires the same modifications. Refer to Working with Tab Configuration for more information.
Creating a New Panel
Use the Create a new Panel dialog box to enter a name for the new panel, and either continue to Configuring Tab Properties or return to Panel Management. You create shared and private panels the same way. First, you name the panel, and then you select to either share it or keep the panel private. You need security rights to create panels. You could have the right to create, edit, or delete private panels, but not have the right to create shared panels.
