Q: Can I send an alert to another user?
A: Yes, you can send an alert to another subscriber from within Alerts Viewer by right-clicking the alert you want to forward and selecting either ‘Copy a selected Alert to a Subscriber’ or ‘Copy a selected Alert to subscriber via Email.’ Selecting either of these options displays the Select a Subscriber screen. Select the user in the left list box and click the to move the user to the right list box. Click Save and click Close at the ‘Alert has been Emailed to User(s)’ prompt.
Q: Why would I want to send an alert to another subscriber?
A: Managers can view their alerts anywhere they have an Internet connection. For example, you are not in your restaurant, and you receive an alert that notifies you an employee is approaching overtime. You can forward the alert to the email account of a store manager, so they can modify the schedule as needed.
Q: Why am I unable to locate the alerts for a specific date?
A: If you do not find the date you are looking for in the date drop-down list, you have either deleted the date or the date has been automatically deleted. The Alerts Viewer keeps alerts for 30 days before automatically deleting them. Once you delete an alert or date from the Alerts Viewer, it is permanently deleted.
Q: Why do I have the Alerts Waiting dialog box when I log in to Aloha Insight at different times?
A: The Alerts Waiting - Web Page Dialog screen appears when you log in to Aloha Insight and you have new alerts since the last time you logged in to Aloha Insight. If you log off of Aloha Insight in the morning and log back in later in the afternoon, you would only receive the Alerts Waiting box if you have new alerts. You receive the Alerts Waiting box upon login only when you receive an alert with ‘Notify subscriber of Alert at login to Insight’ selected on the Message tab in the Alerts Setup wizard.
Q: How do I access Alerts Viewer?
A: You can access Alerts Viewer any time you want by clicking the Alerts icon located at the top of your Aloha Insight home page.
Q: Why did I receive an alert via email? I would rather view it in Alerts Viewer.
A: Whoever created your alert configured the alert to go to your email address and not to your Alerts Viewer. You configure alerts in the Alerts Setup wizard and can send an alert to Alerts Viewer, an email address, and/or a cell phone/pager. Sending an alert to an email address enables you to receive the alert anytime you check your email and makes logging into Aloha Insight unnecessary. You can create another alert with the exact same attributes and send it to your Alerts Viewer in the Alerts Setup wizard. Your access and rights to the Alerts Setup wizard depend on your security settings, which are defined in User Setup within Aloha Insight.
