Aloha Loyalty Settings FAQ
Q. What if one of my stores requires different Aloha Loyalty settings than my company default?
A. It is common to have stores that require different settings than your company default settings. Aloha Loyalty enables you to edit stores and make changes on an individual basis. To make changes to an individual store, click Add on the Welcome to Loyalty Configuration screen, select the store in the list box, and click Next. Make changes, as needed, and click Save.
Q. How do I change the POS button text in Aloha Table Service?
A. You can edit and make changes to the Aloha Loyalty prompt and button text on the FOH from your Aloha Loyalty Web site. If you are making changes to all your stores, select ‘Loyalty Company Settings’ in the list box and click Edit. On the Member Lookup tab, type the text you want to display on the FOH screen in the ‘POS button text for swiping member’s Loyalty card’ text boxes.
Q. How do I prevent my employees from manually entering a Loyalty card number?
A. Preventing your employees from manually entering card numbers is a great way to prevent human error or fraud. In a fast-paced environment like a restaurant, it is easy to transpose a number when entering the card number. By forcing your employees to always enter the card using the mag card reader, you can reduce errors and speed up the process. Additionally, this can help prevent employees from entering the card number of a friend or their own card number and fraudulently getting a reward. To prevent manual card number entry, select ‘Require Loyalty member card to be swiped and disallow manual entry unless approved by a manager’ on the Member Lookup tab. Assign your managers an access level that enables them to override the prompt on the FOH. Refer to the Aloha Table Service User’s Guide or Quick Service User’s Guide for more information on configuring access levels. Additionally, refer to the question on limiting the number of times a member can use their card in a single day for additional ways to prevent Aloha Loyalty fraud.
Q. Can I limit how many times a member can use their card in a single day?
A. Yes, you can limit the number of times a member uses their Aloha Loyalty card in one day. Type the number of times you want to allow members to use their card in the ‘Members can be assigned to a check X times per day unless approved by a manager’ text box on the General tab. Once a member exceeds the maximum number of times they can use their card in a single day, the FOH prompts for manager approval. This is a great way to keep employees from using a card over and over to earn rewards.
Q. Can I customize the text that prints on the guest receipt?
A. Yes, you can customize the receipt to include the name of the member, card type, credit earned, rewards earned on current visit, and current balance on all bonus plans. Select the Print/Display tab and select the options to include on the guest check or voucher text. If you want to customize the message even further, select the ‘Create/ Print Custom Member Message’ text box and click to build your own personalized custom message on the Create Custom Message screen.
Q. Can I specify the profile data that I want to gather from my members for my Aloha Loyalty database?
A. Yes, you can specify the information you want to gather from a member for the Aloha Loyalty database. You can select the default profile options and the required options. For example, you can select ‘Company,’ ‘Country,’ and ‘Drivers License’ as default options; however, only the ‘Drivers License’ option is required. In this case, you may want to allow members to use their driver license as an alternate form of identification. Select ‘Driver’s License’ in the ‘Other Member Profile IDs’ column.
