Working with the Company Calendar Tab
Use the Company Calendar tab to define the date your company went live with Aloha Insight, the sales week starting day, the open and close hours, the time to run End-of-Day, the days your company closes, and the fiscal periods for your company.
Start Date
Specifies the date your store went live with Aloha Insight. Click to select the dates, or type the date in the text box. The ‘Start Date’ is used for reporting and drill down purposes.
Weekday Start
Determines the day of the week your sales week starts. Select the day of the week from the ‘Weekday Start’ drop-down list. Several Aloha Insight reports use this date when reporting information for the current week, previous week, or week to date information.
Last Payroll End Date
Determines the ending date of the previous pay period. Aloha Insight uses the date entered in the ‘Last Payroll End Date’ to calculate future pay periods for reports, line items, and alerts. Click to select the dates, or type the date in the text box.
Pay Period
Specifies the predefined payroll format. Reports that use Current pay Period, Last Pay Period, or Next Pay Period date ranges return data based on your ‘Pay Period’ selection. Select one of the following period formats:
Bi-Weekly
Defines your payroll as every two weeks. Select Bi-Weekly to generate data based on two weeks from the ‘Last Payroll End Date.’
Bi-Monthly
Defines your payroll as two times a month. Select Bi-Monthly to generate data based on the 1st and 16th dates of each month.
Monthly
Defines your payroll as monthly. Select ‘Monthly’ to generate data one month from the last date entered in ‘Last Payroll End Date.’
Weekly
Defines your payroll as weekly. Select ‘Weekly’ to generate data based on one week from the ‘Last Payroll End Date.’
Important Times
Select the start and end times for reports and Drilldown Viewer using the options available in the ‘Important Times’ group box.
Open Hour
Designates the beginning time increment to use when viewing data through Drilldown Viewer.
Close Hour
Designates the ending time increment to use when viewing data in Drilldown Viewer.
End of Day
Specifies the time that End-of-Day (EOD) runs at the stores. The system uses this time to generate failed polling notifications, if a store does not poll successfully after the EOD process completes at the store.
Run Store Edits
Currently not used by the system.
Default Time Zone
Specifies the default time zone for your company. Aloha Insight uses this time zone for reporting purposes.
Company Closed Days Button
Click Company Closed Days to define the days of the week all your stores are not in operation. Remember, this is a global setting. The Aloha Insight system uses this information to determine the days not to automatically poll the stores again when there are missing days. If you have a store that closes weekly on a day other than the days specified here, use Site Setup to establish an override for the specific store. If you have a store, or group of stores, closing on a specific date, such as a holiday, define these dates using the ‘Exception Polling’ settings on the Working with the Polling and System Admin Tab.
Fiscal Periods Button
Click Fiscal Periods to define the fiscal calendar year for your company. Aloha Insight uses fiscal periods extensively in reporting. Select the year to use, the beginning and ending dates for the fiscal year, and the number of periods to use for the fiscal year, then click ‘Calculate’ to calculate the date information.
Fiscal Quarters Button
Click Fiscal Quarters to define the fiscal quarters for your company. Aloha Insight uses fiscal quarters when using date ranges, such as ‘Last Fiscal Quarter,’ and ‘Next Fiscal Quarter.’ When configuring your fiscal quarters, select the year from the drop-down list and enter the beginning dates of each quarter in the respective text box. After entering your quarters, click Save.
