Working with the Data Management Controls Tab
Manage the item and category data for the master store on the Data Management Controls tab. Aloha Insight uses item and category data extensively. Additionally, you can manage the categories imported into the data warehouse by setting the Category Synchronization settings.
Master Store
Displays the store that reports menu items and sales category information when importing data into the Aloha Insight data warehouse. The Master Store setting specifies the store that takes precedence when importing data, meaning Aloha Insight reports and Drilldown Viewer use the item IDs, names, and sales categories from the master store. You can add new category and item data for individual stores, but master store data overrides categories and items specified by other stores if the IDs are the same. If a category or item exists in a store that is not in the master store, the system adds the item or category from the non-master store to your data warehouse.
Category Synchronization
Category Synchronization allows you to specify whether the category data polls from the stores and imports into the data warehouse, or if you will maintain all reporting categories through Category wizard.
Retrieve Category Information from Stores
Retrieves the category sales from the stores. If you select this option, you must select either ‘Get all Category Information,’ or ‘Get only the Sales Categories.’
Get all Category Information
Imports all category data. By selecting this option, you are unable to change category settings that are set by the store sites.
Get only the Sales Categories
Imports only the sales categories from the store sites. By selecting this option, you are able to import sales category settings for newly added items, and you can maintain reporting categories through Category wizard.
All Categories Specified Through Category Wizard
Requires you to maintain all reporting categories through the Category wizard. By selecting this option, store category data will not affect Insight reports. If you select this option, you must specify a default sales category to which Insight will assign newly added store items. The list is sorted by category name, by default. Select the toggle sort button to the right of the list to sort categories by Category ID. The toggle button graphic changes to the alpha sort graphic when the list is sorted numerically.
