Company Setup FAQ Q: Can I determine when Aloha Insight starts polling at my store? A: You select the day Aloha Insight goes live at your company on the Company Calendar tab. Aloha Insight uses the date for reporting purposes and in Drilldown Viewer. Before selecting a start, verify the day has Aloha data to poll. You select specific dates for individual stores in Site Setup on the Polling Configuration tab. Q: Can I configure Aloha Insight to report per the custom fiscal week used by my company? A: Yes, you can configure Aloha Insight to start the fiscal week on any day of the week. To configure your fiscal week, select the Company Setup > Company Calendar tab. Select the day of the week you want your reports to start from the ‘Weekday Start’ drop-down list. Your ‘Weekday Start’ generally coincides with the day your pay period begins. Q: How can I change when Aloha Insight polls a store? A: If you have been using Aloha Insight and need to change the days Aloha Insight polls a store, open a support incident or send an email to [email protected]. Q: Can Aloha Insight encrypt my login information? A: Security is a primary concern to everyone, and to have a secure login all you need to do is select ‘Log in using SSL’ on the Polling & System Admin tab. Your login data is encrypted using the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol from your browser to the Aloha Insight web server. When you use SSL, login speed may decrease slightly due to the extra encryption. Q: Can I determine the minimum characters for a password in Aloha Insight? A: You can force your employees to have a minimum number of characters in their passwords. Just type the minimum number of characters you want your users to use in the ‘Min. Password Length’ text box on the Polling & System Admin tab. Forcing users to use longer passwords makes it harder to steal passwords from other employees. Q: Can I select the sales categories that display in Drilldown Viewer? A: Aloha Insight is very customizable and you determine the sales categories available to view in Drilldown Viewer. On the Sales Reporting Modules tab, select ‘Selected Categories’ and click Selected Categories in the Drilldown Viewer group box. Select the categories in the ‘All Categories’ list box and use the arrows to move the categories to the ‘Drilldown Categories’ list box. Q: Can I exclude salaried employees from my labor reports? A: When you monitor labor reports, you have the option to include all wages or exclude employees that are on salary. Excluding salaried employees enables you to monitor the stores and employees that are using hours. Select ‘Exclude Hours From $0 Employees’ on the Sales Calculations tab to exclude salary employees on labor reports. Q: What is a master store? A: The master store takes precedence when importing data, meaning Aloha Insight reports and Drilldown Viewer use the item IDs, names, and sales categories from the master store. You can add new category and item data for individual stores, but master store data overrides categories and items specified by other stores if the IDs are the same. If a category or item exists in a store that is not in the master store, the system adds the item or category from the non-master store to your data warehouse. Q: Can I have one Aloha Insight Web site to report both Table Service and Quick Service restaurants? A: Yes, you can have one Aloha Insight Web site that reports both Table Service and Quick Service. You create one master database that has all the items for all your concepts. For more information on the concept of master stores and master databases, see the previous question.
