Testing the Export File
After configuring your payroll settings, test the export file to verify it returns the exact data that you import into your payroll processing program. To test the export file:
Your payroll processor determines the type of file you need to export from Aloha Insight.
To generate a test report to view online:
1.
Expand Aloha Insight on the main Aloha Insight Welcome screen.
2.
Select Reports Viewer.
3.
Select Export from the ‘Category’ drop-down list.
4.
Select the report you are scheduling in the ‘Reports’ list box.
5.
Click Next.
6.
Select Use Selected Stores. Refer to Store Selection for more information.
7.
Select All Stores to include all stores in the report; otherwise, select My Home or Selected.
‘My Home’ and ‘Selected’ require you to select one of the following: Store, Region, Area, or Store Group, in accordance with your security access. For example, if you only have access to Store, you are unable to select another option. Refer to Store Selection in Reports Viewer for more information.

Click Report Settings.

Select a date range for the report, such as ‘Last Pay Period.’

Select List the Report on Portal.
11.
Select the file format for your payroll processor from the ‘Please select the file type for this report’ drop-down list. Refer to Payroll Processor File Formats for more information.
12.
Click View.
Viewing the Report in Excel
When the report opens in Excel, verify the information is in the correct order for your payroll processing software. Depending on your payroll processing software, you will need to save the file in the correct format it requires. Refer to Payroll Processor File Formats for more information.
Saving the Export File
After verifying the information, export the file to the appropriate format for your processor. This is the format you import into your payroll processing software.
Importing the Export File Into Your Payroll Processing Software
Refer to your payroll processing software for exact directions on how to import the file. If the file imports correctly, continue to Generating the Export File and Scheduling Audit Reports.
