Q: What is a line item?
A: A line item is a specific piece of data in your data warehouse you can include in a custom report or use to set an alert threshold. When you create a custom line item, you are creating your own algorithm to include in the report/alert.
Q: What is a custom line item?
A: Aloha Insight provides you with a multitude of line items to use in your reports and alerts. When one of these line items is not enough, the Custom Line Item wizard provides you the ability to create a new line item with the information you need. You create your new custom line item with a combination of line item(s), custom line item(s), a mathematical operator, and or a number.
Q: Why do I select a category for my custom line item?
A: This is the category from which you select the custom line item in the Reports Builder wizard or the Alerts Setup wizard. For example, if you create a custom line item that relates to voids, place it in the ‘Voids’ category. If you do not select a category, the category defaults to ‘Custom.’
Q: Do my reports/alerts update when I make changes to a custom line item?
A: Anytime you make changes to a custom line item, the changes reflect in all the reports and alerts that use that custom line item. For example, you have a custom line item averaging your daily sales by the number of hours you are open, and you change your hours of business. After you edit the custom line item, the reports and alerts that use the custom line item reflect the changes.
Q: How can I view all the custom line items that have been created by other users in my company?
A: Select ‘Show All Custom Line Items’ on the Welcome to Custom Line Item wizard screen. If you are unable to select ‘Show All Custom Line Items,’ you are not assigned to a security class with rights to view all the custom line items. Contact your system administrator to edit your security class or access.
Q: Where do I edit the line item rights for users?
A: To edit the rights for users you must edit the security class of the user. Select Security Class Setup from the main Aloha Insight home page. Select ‘Modify a Security Class’ and click Next. Select the security class from the drop-down list and click Next. Click Rights and the Rights Class wizard appears. You can find Custom Line Item rights listed within the Reports Builder rights. Select the rights you want to edit and move them to the appropriate list box.
