Security Class Setup FAQ Q: Do I need to utilize security classes? A: If you want to create your own custom security classes, you must create them before creating your users. You can use the default security classes supplied by Aloha Insight and modify them to fit your needs. Q: What are my responsibilities in Security Setup as the System Administrator for Aloha Insight? A: As the System Administrator for your company, you will be responsible for creating security classes. For example, you determine the reports, alerts, applications and stores your district managers can view, and your store managers can access. When there is a new release of Aloha Insight, you will need to determine which security classes have access to the new features. Q: Can I control the time of day a user can log in to Aloha Insight? A: You can limit times a security class can log in to Aloha Insight. For example, you want to keep your daytime manager security class from logging in during the day. In this example, set the login start time to after the shift is normally over, and the login end time to just before the shift normally starts. Now, any employee assigned to this security class can log in to Aloha Insight during non-work times. Q: How come I am unable to access other stores in my company? A: The security class to which you are assigned prevents you from viewing other stores. Rights are assigned to a security class and employees are assigned a security class. To view information for another store, you must contact your system administrator. Q: How do I limit users from using a specific application within Aloha Insight? A: Aloha Insight enables you to limit the applications users can access via security classes. When you create the security class, you configure which applications the security class can access. Q: Can I disable security classes because my company is not concerned with security? A: No, you cannot disable security classes. Instead, use the default security class. Q: Do you provide any training or additional information for setting up users in the Security Class Setup wizard? A: Yes, Aloha Insight provides training via Web conferencing for many of the applications. Look for the link with the complete list of classes on your Aloha Insight home page. All you need to participate is a phone line and a Web connection. You will have the opportunity to interact with the instructor and follow along on your own screens.
