Working with the Security Class Setup Wizard Security classes control the access options for users within Aloha Insight. All users assigned to the same security class have the exact same rights and restrictions. Security Class Name — Identifies the name of the security class you are creating. Login Times Contains the times of the day you allow the security class to log in to Aloha Insight. The times are in military time and range from ‘01:00’ to ‘23:00.’ If you do not want to restrict login times, select ‘All’ from the drop-down lists. The ‘Login Start Time’ and ‘Login End Time’ define the time frame a user can log in to Aloha Insight. For example, if you set these to 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., respectively, the user can access the system between midnight and 5:00 p.m. They cannot access the system outside of this time frame. Start Time — Designates the earliest time the user can log in to Aloha Insight. Select a time from the drop-down list. If you do not want to restrict the login start time for the user, select ‘All’ from the drop-down list. End Time — Designates the latest time the user can log in to Aloha Insight. Select a time from the drop-down list. Settings Use the Settings options to configure the frequency in which users in the security class change their passwords, and if the security class gets updated to new features upon a new release. Force users to change their passwords every (X) days — Designates the number of days in between password changes. Type the number of days before Aloha Insight forces the user to change their password. Lock user account after (X) failed attempts to enter their password correctly — Indicates the number of unsuccessful login attempts before Aloha Insight locks the user out. Users that are locked out of the system must notify their system administrator to unlock the account. The system administrator will need to clear ‘The Account is Locked’ in User Setup to unlock the account for the user. If a user should become locked out, they still receive any reports and alerts that were scheduled in their e-mail inbox. Force difficult passwords — Checks the password against a database of over 29,000 words. If the password is in this list, Aloha Insight requires another password. The list contains common passwords, such as abcdefg, cat, dog, and password. When selecting ‘Force difficult passwords,’ the user cannot reuse any passwords and must have at the least one upper case character, one lower case character, and one special character in ascii (96, 126, 33, 64, 35, 36, 37, 94, 38, 42, 40, 41, 45, 95, 61, 43, 91, 123, 93, 125, 92, 124, 59, 58, 34, 44, 60, 46, 62, 47, 63). Aloha Insight uses an algorithm designed by the NSA for security. Automatically enable features in the following categories ... — Enables you to automatically update the security class for new reports, security rights, and applications with each new release of Aloha Insight. The “auto-update” feature allows the Aloha Insight System Administrators to streamline the assignment of new features to a security class as they are introduced to Aloha Insight. The assignment occurs automatically behind the scenes provided the security class is designated to receive the updates. Use this feature if you would like the system to automatically assign new reports, security rights, and/or applications within a new Aloha Insight release. As an example, you might want your “Managers” security class to automatically receive all new reports within a given release, but you decide which security rights and applications to assign to that class. Or, you might have a “Corporate” security class you would like to automatically receive all new reports, security rights, and/or applications. This allows you to ensure your company’s key personnel always have the latest/greatest features, and enables you to concentrate your time on managing your enterprise. Please note that the auto-update feature is not retroactive, meaning that only the new features you select are assigned to the security class, and not the current features that are unassigned to the security class. You can select from the following categories: Reports — Indicates you are updating the security class to have access to any new reports released in future versions. Security Rights — Indicates you are updating the security class to have access to any new security right released in future versions. Applications — Indicates you are updating the security class to have access to any new applications released in future versions. Access Allowed Enables you to define the applications, rights, and reports the security class can access when they log in to Aloha Insight. For example, you want your store managers to access Reports Viewer, but you want to limit the reports and rights the user can perform in Reports Viewer. You can allow access to Reports Viewer and limit the reports the security class can access. Additionally, you can control the functions users within that security class can access, such as preventing the user from modifying a saved report, modifying company owned reports, and more. Applications — Indicates the number of applications the security class can access. The number of applications assigned to the security class appears to the right in parenthesis. Click to display the Assign Applications screen. Security Rights — Indicates the number of security rights the security class can access. The number of security rights assigned to the security class appears to the right in parenthesis. Click to display the Assign Rights screen. Reports — Indicates the number of reports the security class can access. The number of reports assigned to the security class appears to the right in parenthesis. Click to display the Assign Reports screen. Stores Allowed Enables you to define the stores, regions, areas, and store groups the security class can access. When you assign a store, region, area, or store group to a security class, you can limit a user within the security class to their home store, region, area, or store group. You assign a home store, region, area, and store group to a user in the User Account Setup wizard. Click next to the store, region, area, or store group to display a wizard to assign stores, regions, areas, or store groups to the security class.
