Configuring the Polling and System Admin Tab
On the Polling & System Admin tab, you configure the polling and system administration settings for your company. You also configure the dates you do not want Aloha Insight to poll your stores, and whether information from the current day is available in your reports.
To configure your polling and system administration settings:
1.
Select one of the following default views for your company:
2.
Select Log in Using SSL to log in to Aloha Insight using the secure socket layer protocol. ‘Log in Using SSL’ only encrypts the actual log in information, and does not encrypt any data transmission after log in. The extra security with Secure Socket Layers (SSL) may increase log in times.
3.
Type the minimum number of characters for passwords.
4.
Select Run Drilldowns Using SSL to view Drilldown Viewer using the secure socket layer protocol. Selecting ‘Run Drilldowns Using SSL’ requires you to answer an additional prompt and does not take effect until the next time you log into Aloha Insight. The extra security with SSL may increase Drilldown Viewer times.
5.
Select Run Reports using SSL to view reports in Reports Viewer using the secure socket layer protocol. Selecting ‘Run Reports using SSL’ requires you to answer an additional prompt and does not take effect until the next time you log into Aloha Insight. The extra security with SSL may increase the time it takes to display a report.
6.
Select the system administrator from the drop-down list. The system administrator is the contact person for your company.
7.
Select Current Day Polling to enable data for the current day of business to be available in reports and the Current Day Polling wizard.
Exception Polling
Use Exception Polling to define the days you do not want Aloha Insight to poll your stores, such as holidays, store remodels, or for any reason the store does not have sales.
For example, if some of your stores close on Christmas day, perform the following steps:
To configure any exception polling:
1.
Click Exception Polling to launch the Exception Polling wizard.
2.
Use the arrows to move the stores that close from the ‘Stores not in the list’ list box to the ‘Stores in Exception Polling List’ list box.
3.
Enter the start date.
4.
Enter the same date in End Date, because you are closing for a single day.
5.
Enter an optional description as to why Aloha Insight is not polling the store(s).
6.
