Defining Custom Line Item Properties

On the Custom Line Item Properties screen, you specify the name, description, and category for the custom line item, and select the format for the result. You must complete all fields identified with a red asterisk.

Name

— Identifies the name of the custom line item. Enter a meaningful name for the custom line item to represent the formula.

Description

— Helps to easily identify the custom line item at a later date. Entering a description is optional.

Category

— Determines the category for the custom line item. This is the category you select in the Reports Builder wizard or the Alerts Setup wizard to gain access to the custom line item. For example, if you create a custom line item that relates to voids, place it in the ‘Voids’ category. If you do not select a category, the category defaults to ‘Custom.’

Format

— Determines how to display the result of the custom line item formula. Select from the following options:

Number

— Displays the result as a number with decimals.

Currency

— Displays the result as currency.

Decimal to nearest 10th

— Displays a number with a one-position decimal. For example, 45.2.

Decimal to nearest 100th

— Displays a number with a two-position decimal. For example, 45.25

Click Next to display the Build Custom Line Item Formula screen.
